Poll results for younger men, older women
The Verdict is in.
It seems that people are Ok with older women dating younger men.
Well, that’s taking into consideration what the ages are.
I think you all remember the poll I was running for this past week with regards to men being able to date older women? I asked you all to tell me what you thought about it. The first post I wrote on Feb 17th created a pretty good buzz it seemed, so I thought I should look into it a bit further.
Well, I had a total of 14 votes to my poll. I wish I was able to get more people involved with the voting, just so I could have a wider perspective of how people are thinking. But the votes I did get showed me that people are pretty much divided down the middle when it comes to the difference with the ages and also that they do indeed think it’s ok.
In the poll, I asked weather or not it was ok for younger men to date older women, and the results are as follows:
7 voters chose yes.
7 voters chose “it depends on the age.”
0 votes for no.
Only TWO were my regular readers though - I figure that is because most of you had already answered me via the comment section…All the rest were logged as guests. What I find pretty interesting was, there were zero, “no” votes.
So, maybe society (at least the 14 people society…lol) seem to be ok with it.

The younger man and the older woman.
To date, or not too date?
Remember last Sunday, when I posted about older women dating younger men? I think I could be on to something here.
It seems that all my traffic recently has been on this same subject.
According to my Bloglog stats, I have had many hits come to me by way of - is it OK to date younger women? - The older woman, younger guy, and so on. I never really gave this subject all too much thought, (amazing - since I am an Aquarius)
Funny though, my friend and I were just talking about this subject via text messaging last night. We were discussing how, when we were together last year and took a break from each other - he dated someone that was about 18 years younger then he was. I thought it was gross, she was just 24, and he actually ended up not liking it because he said it felt like she was just a kid, as she behaved rather immaturely. drinking too much, partying all the time, etc.
But, on the same note - he likes the idea of a young guy with an older woman. Look at Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. I believe they are 15 years apart in age?
So what makes it different? I always thought “women matured much faster then men.” So, at what point does this become bypassed and the men are looking for the older, mature woman?
I think it is just society that puts the rules on everything. Just last night, my daughter and I watched an English movie about a teacher that was sleeping with a much younger student. Of course a teacher should never be sleeping with her student in the first place, but what if he was over that 18 year mark? Then it would have been “gross” but yet, at the same time, “OK” because he was indeed 18 and legal?
It seems to be everywhere these days. And something must be up if it is being searched for frequently. I was never single in my 20’s and it wasn’t until I was 35 that I actually became single again, and in the dating field. (Which I totally hate being in BTW.) But, most men my age and older are married, settled and have the house, the kids, and the swanky car. So that obviously leaves the “young-ins” - as I like to call em. Or, the 60 year olds that are old, single drunks. Yuck. ;(

So far it is saying that most people feel that it depends on the age of the woman. Nobody, so far has chosen “No” though. And I got a few Yes answers too. Go voice your opinions people and vote! I want to know! This really is an interesting topic.
Here is one woman’s really sweet story of her younger guy. She is obviously much older then he is. And her hubby has never given age a second thought.

Not only are women called “Cougars” but apparently, this is called the “Mrs. Robinson syndrome.”

I even found dating sites that cater to “Cougars.” lol.
