Finally, Windows Mobile upgrades!

One small little bee on the great big flower of life.. Sometimes I feel this way.
Did ya ever just feel like the world was such a big huge place and you are just one small little fleck in the grand scheme of things? Well, you should! Cause basically, that’s what we are. Sometimes though, I feel it that much more.
So, this week I am feeling a bit stressed. I am waiting for that damn Windows Mobile 6.1 to be coming out so I can upgrade! I am wondering what the hell is taking AT & T so long to do this upgrade. I realize that they need to make sure that all the phones that use WM 6.1 are compatible, but isn’t that something they should have done a while ago, knowing there would be a release?
I am excited about the new version! There are a few really good changes to the newer version that I think are super cool.
The first one being a new and improved windows default screen.
Now 6.1 will have threaded texting too! Did you ever get into “text arguments” with your ex, and in the heat of the argument - you forget what the heck you were arguing about because you have sent 80 texts?
Well - fret no more!
Now….they will be threaded together, so you can keep track!
They have auto complete for emails now too. And apparently, you can “zoom” into a web page using your Internet Explorer - much like Opera mini does.
And - finally a custom home page! I so hate seeing “Media Net” everytime I log onto my web browser on my phone.
Check out all the changes here. Do the comparisons. Some stuff will only be available with a touch screen phone. Others only on a non touch screen.
For us “geeks” and mobile smartphone/Iphone users, this is a super exciting time! There are still the old favorites too, like copy/paste and all that.
I have really not minded using Windows Mobile on my Blackjack 2. I thought I would, considering how my XP on my computer is always screwing up. But I gotta say, I am pleasantly surprised that it (WM) is so much more stabe on a phone.
Any of my readers get the new 6.1 yet? Or are you all in the waiting pool like I am?

I call defeat. Outlook Express it is.
This day has most definitely been a long one. I have gone back to using Outlook Express as my default email. I think you remember when I started using Thunderbird? It was back in December and I wanted to give it another try. Since then, I have tried and tweaked my Thunderbird to act as I want it to be. And then it dawned on me. I have been trying to get my Thunderbird to behave as Outlook Express!
When I tried to tweak my address book and change it around and download a theme that was much like OE, I thought - No more, I am just going back to OE.
I don’t know what it is, but there is just something about Outlook Express that I find appealing. That’s a plus since I usually do not like Microsoft products all too well.
But for some reason I just could not get use to the Thunderbird software. Especially when it came to configuring the HTML and other aspects in my email messages! They still kept sending as plain text, having those ugly red lines around everything in my message body!
Sending multiple emails was a pain in the butt too. So I stopped sending them. With O.E I could just hold the CTRL key and click with my mouse to Cc or Bcc. Not with TB.
Maybe I should just go download Ubuntu. I had the download a long time ago - but never installed it. Ubuntu is an OS, and it is completely free. I also think you can try it out, without committing to it. Kinda take it for a “test run” and if you like it - you click a button/link that makes it your default OS.
Hmmm, I like that thought…..”No commitment.”
