My web host shut my site down for $6.95!

If there is one thing I can’t stand – it’s businesses that treat their customers like crap.

You know them – the snotty ones. The ones that when you email them they reply back with those oh so snotty “why the hell are you bothering me” type emails. Those type of companies lose my business faster then anything else.

This time I encountered  this type of attitude two days ago from my web hosting company – Namecheap.com.

I am not going to get all into it because quite honestly, I am still pissed off about it.

But let me tell ya – I was 20 days late (not even the legal 30 day limit!) in paying my hosting company a freakin $6.95 for my accounts and they shut me down!

They did this once before, telling me they sent me 3 emails reminding me. I believed them, against my better judgment thinking I had a temporary lapse in memory, so I started keep EVERY email they sent me.

Well, I got an email the other day that said, “my account was suspended for non payment.”

I set them a not so nice email asking them to please send me messages telling me that it is due so I can keep them & use them as a reminder so I am not late.  And I also told them that I actually was not able to pay them until today because I got paid every two weeks.

Basically I got a rather bitchy email back that said they sent me 3 emails and I should log onto the site to check and see if I got any messages! And that it is out of their hands and the server does it automatically and blah, blah…

WTF? Seriously, who the hell has time to be logging onto their web hosting provider to “see” if they sent any emails? THEY should be sending ME emails. Not just saying they did.

Anyways, before I get off on a rant again about it…………..(too late…lol)

I am changing my hosting company. They suck. I am fed up with their bitchy emails and their less then helpful company employees. They didn’t even help me when I needed help installing one of my Wordpress blogs. They told me (in an oh – so – nice way) to “do it myself.”

If anyone cares to share, I love to hear about your hosting company!  I have emailed a few of them, and have gotten a few replies, but I am going to comparison shop.

I am definitely going though. I don’t need this crappy treatment. They suck.

On another note–

My google was merged with my feedburner and I LOST all my subscribers. I don’t know what I did wrong, but it’s not showing the right number. I had 47 readers and now I am down to 3. I don’t know why this is. Anybody having the same troubles with theirs?

  1. That sucks that’s how most of them do it. I get emails if my credit card payment or paypal doesn’t go thru. Of course the try to process it 2 weeks ahead of time. But I don’t think there is any host company that is 100% great. Just my view.

Eathan, Yeah – they are all pretty crappy. I use to have a great hosting company years ago wen I had different web sites. You know – way before “blogs” lol. The shutting down of my site would not be so bad if they just were not rude assholes when you asked a question or needed help!
And the thing that gets me is I didn’t get an email. I got a “renewal” for one of my other sites – but that was it.

  2. Feedburner messes up sometimes. Mine goes down to 0 but returns to real stats soon.
