Old Orchard Beach vacation, part 1.

Vacation, pictures and a review.

So, my weekend away last Saturday was awesome! I know, it’s taken me all week to write about it. I have been on vacation this week though, and honestly, I pretty much have not done anything. Cleaned a bit around the house and put some stuff away here and there, but really I  was not very creative or constructive. I figure, that’s what Fall is for. :)

Not too much that you can do anyways when the weather is so crappy around here.

We arrived at our little Motel - The Green Dolphin a few hours early. And I gotta tell you, each & every person that we met was awesome!

They had no problem with us parking at the motel even though we had arrived fairly early and they were eager to help us with any questions we had. We would have been able to put our things in our room, but the housekeeping woman was not done cleaning the room yet. Which was 100% fine with us, we were really not in any hurry this weekend!

So, we decided to take a look at the beach.

I am telling ya, when I got on the beach, (which by the way was about a three minute walk from where we were staying!) I just about died and gone to heaven!

When they say 7 miles of beach…they sure as hell were not kidding.

I have never been a traveler. I think I told you guys that before when I first talked about going away for a weekend. And quite honestly, the only beaches I ever went to were the local ones here. And they suck around here. All rocks and very little sand. The shores are so small and it must take all of ten minutes to walk the whole beach.

Old Orchard Beach is beautiful. It really is. I have found a new love. And it resides in the state of Maine. Seriously, I want to live here. I could live there and never ever look back at my past life here in Mass. I would gladly give up just about everything to live & work there, at the beach.

Here is a picture looking towards the North.

And here is towards the South. Amazing.

When we got back from the Beach we were able to put our stuff in our room.

As soon as I walked into the room I knew I was going to love it there! The room was really clean and smelled fresh - with a faint hint of bleach. Everything looked neat as a pin and I was immediately comfortable in my surroundings. If you guys ever need a place to stay when you want to hit Old Orchard Beach, I highly suggest The Green Dolphin Motel. I know that V and I will be back there - that’s for sure!

The room was adorable and we actually got the jacuzzi room, which was nice because we both had never been in a jacuzzi.

Here are a few more pictures! Notice how the room itself is a good size!

Stay tuned for vacation part 2 kids. This lady needs to get some shit done around here. And I also need to restart my computer as I had some updates to apply.

I will be back!

  1. Cool.. what’s weird is I was thinking “wow, there sure are a lot of people on the beach in Maine” but I guess it’s hot there too.. huh? hee..hee..

Cinn, lol…honestly, I was saying to V, “I can’t believe the water is so warm here!”
Believe it or not - I was just as surprised as you! lol. It was beautiful. Highly recommend it!

  2. That’s my home town in my home state!
I do love Maine, but the winters are brutally cold, my aching body can’t take that kind of cold anymore.
But it sure is a beautiful place, I miss it a lot sometimes.

I’m glad you had such a nice time there. :)

Kats last blog post..He screwed up his legacy challenge.

Kat, Really?! That is awesome. A friend of mine lives in Maine. Honestly, I loved it there. I think I could handle the cold - I love snow! :)
