Thunderbird or Outlook?
So, since I use Firefox as my browser I thought I would give Thunderbird another try.

Thunderbird (for the non techie ones) is an email program, that behaves in pretty much the same fashion as Outlook Express.

I gotta tell you, I can’t decide which one I like better. In some ways I like O.E a lot better, but that may be because I am use to it, having used it since I first started on the web all those years ago.
But…then I also like the Thunderbird too. It seems a tad harder to navigate through the program, but set up was pretty easy and it imported my address book ok. I like that I did not have to download an additional “program” for spell check, whereas I did for Outlook Express because the basic O.E that comes with XP does not have it.
And because I use McAfee as my antivirus, It does not have a dedicated “junk mail” collector, but Thunderbird does. Outlook Express had a Norton junk mail folder when I used them. But I switched to McAfee when I realized that it was FREE with Comcast cable subscribers! But….I know this sounds a bit strange… But Thunderbird “feels” slower to collect my mail from the servers. Maybe, I am just nuts. lol. But it does have many more “perks.” You can add on features and your folders and such are more customized. It has message history and tagged browsing …O.E just does not have all that much. But then again, I am not using the office version of O.E… but the basic, home edition.
So, I am trying to use Thunderbird for a week or so, just so I give it a fair try. If I do not like it by the end of the week - I will go back to my Outlook Express I think.
What say you all? Which email programs do you guys use? Which ones do you like better?

I just clicked over here from Lady in Red … I like what I see.
I use Eudora as my mail client and Opera as my browser (opera has its own e-mail client as well if you want to use that).
Of your 2 choices, I would go with Thunderbird because I have found it to be better than Outlook. Unless you’re talking MS Office apps … I think anything is better than everything Microsoft.
